WORKS

ARTIST

Joanna Skurska

Joanna Skurska designs and forms her textile objects from wiry threads or fibers: The artist, who comes from Poland, interweaves, networks and links copper wire or telephone cables to create filigree and transparent garments. She creates garments without content, feminine and figure-hugging, disembodied and yet very physical. These are works in the field of tension between free and applied art, between art object and wearable art, which in a figurative sense deal with protection and jewelry, but also with being trapped and confined or with wrapping and unveiling.
